Joe Olympio
Joe earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. He began his career with Siemens as a field service engineer, supporting planned maintenance scopes on steam and gas turbines, including upgrades and system overhauls. Naturally, he advanced into the role of on-site project manager, gaining extensive experience in contract execution, overseeing internal and external technicians, and taking full ownership of projects across all aspects. He spent 10 years in the field supporting aggressive timelines and project completions under budget. When Siemens transitioned to Siemens Energy, his involvement advanced to high visibility outages, catastrophic failures, and complex forced outage restorations. These restorations ranged from complete rebuilds to replacement of turbine or generator equipment with exact or similar service-run units. Joe played a key role in these high-value recovery efforts, managing multimillion-dollar projects, external vendors in varying industries, and overseeing large-scale equipment restorations both domestically and internationally.
Leveraging his knowledge of power plant operations, equipment failures, complex projects, and project execution, Joe joined MGTA Group as a Project Specialist. In this role, he conducts investigations into power generation equipment failures, providing technical assessments, estimating repairs, and assisting with recovery planning to mitigate risks and ensure successful project execution. Joe’s diverse expertise in power generation, coupled with his leadership in managing complex projects, makes him a valuable asset to the MGTA Group team.
